On his first day as an intern, an idealistic Dr. Devon Pravesh faces the harsh realities of medical care, as third year resident Dr. Conrad Hawkins takes him under his wing and teaches his unconventional ways for treating patients. Meanwhile, Conrad goes head-to-head with Chief of Surgery Dr. Randolph Bell, who uses power and intimidation to cover up his mistakes.

Conrad receives the call he's been waiting for when a heart becomes available for a patient who has been on the transplant list for two years. But when a congressman is admitted to the hospital after a heart attack, he is prioritized and derails Conrad's patient's surgery. Meanwhile, Nic grows suspicious of one of the doctors after a file goes missing, Dr. Bell tries to manipulate Mina and Devon is put to the test when a patient's condition requires a split-second decision.

An old army buddy and fellow surgeon visits Conrad at the hospital. Meanwhile, the team is put to the test when they have to save the life of an uninsured and undocumented patient, while simultaneously battling the hospital's administrators, who fear the patient will cost millions. Also, Dr. Bell experiments with a new medication for his tremor and Nic swears to investigate the mystery surrounding missing medical records.

Episode 3

After a mix-up in the ER causes Conrad to deliver a death notification to the wrong family, he sets out to fix it. Meanwhile, Nic struggles to find a patient's records who has been under Lane's care, Devon forms a bond with an elderly patient and Mina is benched after overreaching in the surgical unit.

Episode 4

Three concurrent surgeries at the hospital push its staff to the limits. Determined to ease the pressure, Nic requests Jude for one of the operations, making Conrad jealous. Meanwhile, Dr. Lane Hunter sets out to discredit Nic's claims, Devon struggles with a patient who has an embarrassing problem and a charitable contributor comes to the hospital wanting to donate a lot of money to Dr. Lane's oncology program.

Episode 5

As Conrad battles a group of overly aggressive attending physicians on behalf of a patient with a mysterious chronic ailment, he also must face off against his father who has shown up at the hospital unannounced. When Mina goes out of her way to help a young man from her neighborhood who almost mugged her, Nic offers her assistance and discovers a secret that Mina has been keeping behind closed doors. While away from the hospital, Nic enlists the help of Devon to keep an eye on Lily, which leads him to an incredible find that has him questioning Dr. Lane's motives. Also, Renata's plans to poach a renowned surgeon from another hospital hit a standstill when Bell decides he doesn't agree with him.

Episode 6

Conrad goes head-to-head with Lane when he disagrees with her over a treatment plan for a terminal cancer patient. Tensions rise when Jude inserts himself in the middle by offering to perform the invasive procedure Conrad is fighting against. When a VIP patient crosses the line with Nic, she must devise a strategy on how to stand her ground and combat the situation. Meanwhile, Bell realizes he'll need Mina's hands more than ever

Episode 7

Much to Bell's dismay, Nic and Conrad decide to admit a homeless Jane Doe, whom they suspect was dumped off by another hospital during Chastain's big Charity Ball. Elsewhere in the hospital, Devon and Irving care for a male escort who offers surprisingly good advice, Micah returns for a checkup and falls even harder for Mina, and Devon's parents are in town.

Conrad's ex-fiancé, Catherine, is admitted to the hospital with abdominal pain that proves to be quite the medical mystery. As Conrad doggedly tries to figure out her diagnosis and fights the idea of Bell performing her operation, Nic gets some insight into Conrad's past. Meanwhile, Bell panics when Claire announces that she will be installing cameras in all operating rooms, Devon wracks his brain for the perfect birthday present for Priya and Lane realizes that Nic is suspicious about her clinic.

Conrad is hit by a bike and badly sprains his ankle, but works through it when he takes the case of his old medical professor, who is hallucinating visions of her old patients. Devon is tasked with admitting Conrad, who refuses any sort of treatment. Nic tries to navigate her emotions while mourning the loss of a patient and Bell operates on a foreign dignitary with unforeseen complications. Meanwhile, Lane and Bell's relationship grows closer.

When Nic finds herself under investigation in Lily's death, Conrad comes to her defense, but ends up making the situation worse. During a routine surgery, Bell's patient accidentally catches fire, leaving the hospital to start an immediate investigation into his medical records. However, hospital CEO Claire Thorpe doesn't realize what she's up against when Bell plans a counter attack. Meanwhile, Devon deals with a series of ER patients, including a hypochondriac whom he fears could end up under Lane's care.

Conrad and Devon work tirelessly to save the life of Bradley, a fellow doctor who has fallen through the hospital skylight. As the team contemplates how and why he fell through in the first place, Dr. Bell looks back to when he benched Bradley for falling asleep during surgery. Amidst the madness, Mina is tasked with showing Chastain's new star cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. AJ Austin, around the hospital, but is caught off-guard by his volatile personality. Meanwhile, Nic finds renewed enthusiasm when she uncovers an oncologist who used to work with Lane, but while paying him a visit, she fears that she's being followed.

Episode 12

Devon and Conrad race against the clock to save the life of a woman who is deteriorating fast from undetermined symptoms. When the patient turns out to be a hero who helps previous criminals get their lives back together, the team relies on her family of ex-cons to help diagnose and treat her. Tensions rise as Nic continues her search for evidence to incriminate Lane, but must simultaneously tend to her sister, Jessie, who is rushed into the ER. Meanwhile, York returns to the hospital with his mother, who is in need of a risky procedure, and comes face-to-face with the stone-cold Dr. AJ Austin.

Episode 13

In a final and drastic attempt to save Nic from Lane's acts of sabotage, Conrad must call in a favor from the one person he promised he never would. Meanwhile, Mina's partnership with The Raptor takes on new colors when Micah is rushed back to Chastain with major heart complications and Dr. Bell's alliance with Lane is put to the ultimate test when one of her patients is readmitted.

Then, Devon grows worried when he doesn't hear from Julian, and Nic sets her sights on a primary physician for their new clinic.

When a medical device fails on a former Chastain employee, an investigation is opened up, which pits Dr. AJ Austin against Quovadis. As Mina and Bell work to get to the bottom of what went wrong, Devon distracts himself with another patient who's experiencing mysterious stomach pains. Meanwhile, Nic forms a bond with her new partner at the clinic and Conrad's relationship with the Barnett family and continues to grow.

When a nasty flu season turns out to be masking a terribly infectious disease, Chastain must race to quarantine and diagnose infected patients. Mina finds herself testing Quovadis medical devices in an effort to defend Dr. Austin, who, feeling responsible for the death of a patient, is serving penance by staying away from the OR. Conrad is prepared to take the next step with Nic, but finds that she may not be as ready.

Conrad, Kit, Mina and the Raptor work to save the life of a med student in need of a triple-organ transplant, drawing Bell back to the OR for one of the Chastain's riskiest surgeries yet. After the police find Julian's empty car in a nearby lake, Devon does some investigating of his own to find out what might have happened. Meanwhile, Mina and the Raptor hound Bell to halt his business with the risky medical device company, Quovadis, and Nic makes a rash decision regarding her sister.

When Conrad's attempt to surprise Nic with a lavish Valentine's Day dinner is foiled, he gives the reservation away to someone who could really use it. Mina and Devon distract themselves from all Valentine's celebrations by trying to figure out how their seemingly healthy neighbor has suddenly passed away. Meanwhile, Kit gives dating advice to a sex-injured patient, Irving hits a crossroads in his not-so-secret relationship with Nurse Jessica, and Bell decides to celebrate the day in the OR.

When a police officer brings in an injured criminal, the staff must keep him alive. Nic gets roped into a surgical rotation with Cain that leaves her questioning the way he operates. Conrad makes a shocking discovery about the hospital.

Conrad doubts Devon's judgement when a patient who was pronounced dead suddenly revives. Cain and Nick butt heads over the care of a white supremacist. The Raptor and Mina uncover new information about Red Rock Medical.

After a plane crashes in Atlanta, Devon is overcome by guilt at the thought that he could have prevented it. Adaku returns to ask Mina a big favor. Conrad and Nic consider risking it all to investigate a drug that might be linked to Jessie's death.

On National Nurses' Day, the nurses are severely understaffed and overworked. Cain performs a dangerous surgery on a new patient. Conrad discovers that his father has been administered the same drug that he fears played a role in Jessie's death.

The new neurosurgery center opens, and Nic is forced to work alongside Cain again. Mina and The Raptor work together with a new surgeon on a heart transplant that has an unexpected result. Bell asks Conrad to reexamine three patients who may have been poisoned.

When Nadine's father comes to town for her birthday, Devon enlists help to ensure that he makes the best first impression. Red Rock decides to cut the entire OBGYN department. Nic cares for a teenage patient whose condition is deteriorating.

A renowned pediatric cardiac surgeon proves unfit for surgery. A Dolly Parton drag queen collapses on stage. Nic and Conrad suspect a patient may be the victim of sex trafficking. Nadine delivers some surprising news to Devon.

When Cain’s elective surgery patient returns with complications, Mina and Raptor butt heads over how to handle the situation. Conrad and Devon treat a local Congresswoman who withholds information that could prevent her from receiving proper treatment, causing Devon to open up about his grief. In the wake of losing many colleagues to the virus, Bell worries who would be there for him in a moment of crisis and finds himself mining his own past to find his estranged former stepson, elite plastic surgeon Dr. Jake Wong. Meanwhile, Logan Kim finds himself on the chopping block when the doctors are questioned about his actions during the pandemic.

When Cain tries to be a hero at a crash scene, he is struck by a car, causing Chastain’s doctors to put aside their personal issues to try and save his life. Conrad and Nic team up to help one of the crash victims, whose secretive past makes it difficult to identify a diagnosis. Meanwhile, Bell brings his TV crew to the hospital in hopes of garnering positive attention for Chastain, and Mina opens up to Nic, only to find out that Nic is holding on to a secret of her own.

The Chastain staff works together to diagnose a mother-daughter pair who both come in with symptoms that make it difficult to determine their conditions. Devon deals with an unexpected visit from his mother and Conrad and Nic try to figure out the best time to tell everyone their big news. Meanwhile, Bell deals with an over-eager fan of his show who ends up needing treatment at Chastain and Mina makes a bold move when she realizes her visa is about to expire.

With Chastain on the verge of shutting down due to the sale by Red Rock, Conrad tries a last-ditch effort to save the hospital and the doctors plan for their next career moves. Meanwhile, on their last day, the whole staff must work together to save Nic's life after she is injured by a deranged patient.

As Nic struggles with her recovery, her close friend and former Chastain colleague, Billie, comes back to the hospital to support her. Meanwhile, as the hospital transitions from private to public, the search begins for a new CEO, Bell asks a favor of his step-son and Devon sees an opportunity to fix the system.

When Conrad gets a call from his former army commander who is stranded and wounded in the forest, the trip to save him brings lots of old emotions to the surface. Devon and Kit treat a patient who suffers from sickle cell anemia and encourage her to have a hip replacement to help treat her pain. Meanwhile, The Raptor is pulled away in the middle of an intense surgery, Mina is left to put her skills and finish the surgery on her own and Bell works on reconnecting with his stepson after helping him get hired at the hospital.

On Nic's first day back at Chastain, the man who attacked her is admitted to the ER, causing her to confront her trauma head-on. Cain, now in recovery, is self-conscious of his physical state and sets his eye on taking down Mina. The new intern both struggles and shines throughout her first day, causing Devon and Conrad to wonder if something bigger is going on.

A case becomes personal for the staff when Conrad and Bell treat a pregnant woman who is carrying Jake's future adopted child. An attack by cyber criminals sends the Chastain ER into a tailspin and Kit tries to figure out whether or not to pay the ransom. The Raptor deals with a personal connection to the patients brought into the ER during the attack, leaving them all vulnerable. Meanwhile, Conrad works on balancing life as a new dad and Devon and Leela debate taking the next step in their relationship.

When one of the doctors is found unconscious in an elevator at Chastain, the staff frantically retraces his steps to figure out the cause. Billie is faced with a personal conflict when she comes face-to-face with the secret she has been hiding all these years. Meanwhile, Bell helps Kit make a decision about a new neurosurgeon joining the team at Chastain.

When an accident brings a familiar patient into the Chastain ER, the doctors must face the reality of figuring out how to proceed with the best care, which leads the whole staff questioning every decision. Meanwhile, The Raptor and Leela deal with a patient returning with the long-term effects of COVID.

Conrad finds common ground with an aggressive patient, helping lead to a diagnosis for his outbursts. Meanwhile, when another patient’s lung collapses, the doctors find a serious root of the issue.

When a gunshot victim comes into the ER, his injuries prove to be so catastrophic throughout his body that multiple doctors need to jump on the case. Meanwhile, Ian is faced with a mandatory drug test and Padma prepares for her C-section.

Ian is faced with performing a surgery on a Jane Doe NICU patient while he continues to struggle with his personal issues. Meanwhile, Conrad asks Devon to cover his shift so he can spend a day at home with an anxious Gigi.

A college professor comes into the ER and Conrad realizes it’s a former patient of his from when he was an intern. Meanwhile, Devon ends up admitting a man – who swears by an anti-aging regimen that he thinks is the answer to eternal life – into the hospital after he collapses.

On the day of Kit and Bell’s wedding, Bell and Conrad get pulled away to tend to the ill daughter of a major hospital donor. Meanwhile, Billie takes Gigi and Sammie dress shopping.

When a prison doctor believes a death row inmate is lying about his symptoms, Conrad and Raptor are called in to examine him. Meanwhile, Devon sees a traveling British couple who are nervous about the cost of American healthcare, and Kit and Bell meet with the Georgia Governor.

After a teenage boy is taken into Chastain for falling unconscious from a suspicious pill, Conrad takes action to find the boy's brother before he meets the same fate. Meanwhile, Dr. Bell deals with being served court papers from a former patient.

Devon is approached by a documentary producer as he prepares to perform the first titanium rib cage implant surgery in the country with Raptor, who must scramble to find a babysitter before the procedure. Meanwhile, Conrad tends to an unhelpful patient who claims to have been mauled by a large cat, and Dr. Bell faces negative press.

Conrad comes face to face with Nic's dad, Kyle, after 5 years of no contact, when he comes into Chastain with an extremely low heart rate.  Billie advises her patient against surgery, but the patient’s family ignores her recommendation.  Meanwhile, Cade musters up the courage to confront Ian about his addiction and Leela grows concerned about Padma.

A famous cardiothoracic surgeon – who happens to be Dr. Yamada’s mentor – comes into Chastain after experiencing heart pain.  Meanwhile, Kit breaks the news that the ER will no longer be accepting trauma patients due to budget cuts, and Devon and Conrad help treat a confused woman.

The ER quickly fills up after a heavy storm causes a devastating helicopter crash. Conrad, Devon and the rest of the Chastain doctors rush to treat patients including the helicopter pilot, a barista, and Chastain’s least favorite person, Governor Mark Betz.

Conrad is pulled away from celebrating Gigi’s 6th birthday when Sammie comes into Chastian with a 104-degree fever, and Kit must call in a favor for treatment. Meanwhile, a heart arrives for Governor Betz’s transplant surgery.
