Cậu sinh viên trẻ Matthew (Michael Pitt) xuất thân từ một gia đình Mỹ nghèo nhưng say mê điện ảnh, cậu quyết định đến Paris học tiếng Pháp và được đắm chìm vào mọi thể loại điện ảnh trên thế giới.
