The series follows the residents of an apartment building on Copenhagen's Christianshavn, as they go about their daily lives and challenges. There is Olsen, a mover with an old fashion view of the world, Clausen who runs the local pet shop, Egon the career focused assistant, their wives who work hard to keep their spouses lives together, the young couple Tue and Rikke who recently moved in, the hard working caretaker Meyer, who never puts in to much effort, and of course Emma, the innkeeper of Rottehullet, where all the important decisions are made while running up the bar tab.

The series was produced by Nordisk Film for Danmarks Radio TV station between the years 1970-77. The series' first director was Ebbe Langberg, then Erik Balling and Tom Hedegaard respectively. The series was conceived by an author team of well-known Danish authors such Leif Panduro, Benny Andersen, and Lise Nørgaard.

The Kingdom is the most technologically advanced hospital in Denmark, a gleaming bastion of medical science. A rash of uncanny occurrences, however, begins to weaken the staff's faith in science – a phantom ambulance pulls in every night, but disappears; voices echo in the elevator shaft; and a pregnant doctor's fetus seems to be developing much faster than is natural.

MA FU, a retired employee of the HK Correctional Services Department, moved back to live with his son after retirement. MA FU treats and disciplines everyone in his family as if they were the offenders he works with in his job. His youngest son MA CHONG feels like he's in jail when he gets home, and his father is even often involved with his job as a paralegal. Season 1

Inspired by local politics, Rita holds an election in her class. Uffe gets a job at the school, but it sparks conflict with Hjordis.

Helle hires a motivational coach for the students. Meanwhile Jeppe moves in with his boyfriend, and Rita struggles with living on her own.

A problem student goes on a destructive rampage, Hjordis makes progress with her second graders, and a man from Rita's past shows up.

To combat loneliness, Rita invites some students to her house. Meanwhile, Hjordis tries to spice up her sex life with Uffe.

Rita's fourth graders come down with head lice, and she decides to delouse them herself. Meanwhile, Helle faces evaluation by her peers.

Rita tries to keep the police in the dark when Hjordis decides on the perfect item to bury in a time capsule: marijuana.

Overcome by stress, Helle asks Rita to become the school's temporary headmaster, and Hjordis's class celebrates Saint Lucy's day with style.

Rita agrees to act as temporary headmaster in Helle's absence, and Hjordis and Uffe face an important decision regarding their relationship.

Season 3

Rita has settled down in Molly's apartment and works in a burger bar, much to Molly's chagrin. When Molly, on behalf of Rita, sends a job application, Rita ends up with a job offer from her former primary school, which she reluctantly accepts. Hjørdis, out of concern for Rita, applies for a job at the same school, so she can be there for her.

Rita, who hates cooking, struggles to fill in as a home economics teacher. Hjørdis tries to help Allan overcome his fears about an upcoming field trip.

A bomb threat scares the whole school — except Rita. Hjørdis worries that her and Uffe's strange hobbies will hurt their son socially when he's older.

Lea invites Rita to join her family for dinner, echoing a day in 1985 when teenage Rita had dinner with Lea's parents and was called to Lea's rescue.

When one of Rita's first-graders doesn't want to take a turn bringing home 'Sharebear,' the class teddy bear, she visits his home to find out why.

To try to save the school from closure, the staff organizes a fundraiser, including a play by Hjørdis' class with Allan in the lead role.

Bjørne can't bear to break the bad news to his staff and becomes self-destructive. The event in 1985 that led to Lea falling out with Rita is revealed.

When history starts to repeat itself, Rita retreats in self-defeat, until a loyal friend gives her the support she needs to figure out her future.

Season 4

A young Holocaust denier creates a scare at Hjordis and Rita's school. Helle asks Rita to help Rasmus accept a hard truth. Uffe meets a kindred spirit.

Rita tries to stop a shy student's parents from uprooting him to move to Greenland. Rasmus meets someone on Tinder. Hjørdis helps a student face a fear.

During a field trip to Sweden, Rita rubs the local townsfolk the wrong way. Niels brings Jeppe back to Denmark, where Rasmus and Uffe help the two bond.

When an odd new student suddenly pops up in class, Rita gets a moneymaking idea. Jeppe goes on a Tinder date. Attraction grows between Rasmus and Rita.

Uffe tries to avoid Pil. Rita worries that one of her night-class students might be a victim of domestic abuse. Jeppe learns Ole is still in the closet.

Jeppe's ex unexpectedly returns. Hjørdis helps a student whose parents use her as a go-between. Rita's friendship with Gerd becomes a problem in class.

Rita struggles to process her overwhelming feelings of guilt. Ole reveals to Jeppe that he's met someone else - whom his grandmother approves of.

Jeppe learns that Ole is going to propose to Camilla. A new student who leads the other pupils in a school strike reminds Rita why she became a teacher.
