Cô xâm nhập vào xưởng đúc tiền, giải cứu đệ đệ Mộc Hoằng đang bị giam cầm ở đây để đúc khuôn tiền và biết được cha mẹ bị giết vì cản trở Lưu Hoán bắt người. Mộc Lan đoạt được mẫu tiền giả làm bằng chứng, đến cầu cứu Kê Thế Huân, nhưng lại bị hắn bày kế hãm hại, bắt giam cả cô và đệ đệ. Lúc này cô mới hiểu rằng Kê Thế Huân mới chính là kẻ chủ mưu đứng sau tất cả. Để tích lũy chiến công và che giấu tội ác, hắn không ngần ngại vu khống Mộc Lan thông đồng với địch, thậm chí còn dàn dựng âm mưu giết dân lành để lập công.
