Câu chuyện diễn ra tại một thành phố hư cấu có tên là San Fransokyo (tên viết tắt của 2 thành phố San Francisco của Mỹ và Tokyo của Nhật Bản). Đó là nơi ở của cậu bé thần đồng Hiro Hamada cùng với một người bạn hết sức đặc biệt là Baymax. Baymax trông giống như một người tuyết màu trắng, đây là phát minh của Tadashi – anh trai Hiro. Baymax được tạo ra nhằm mục đích phục vụ cho sức khỏe của con người. Với sự thông minh của Hiro, cậu nhóc đã chế tạo ra các công cụ chiến đấu cho biệt đội siêu anh hùng với sự đồng hành của 5 thành viên còn lại là Baymax, Wasabi, Go Go, Fred và Honey Lemon. Họ cùng điều tra về kẻ giấu mặt “kabuki” đã đánh cắp phát minh “bọ siêu nhỏ” của Hiro và ngăn chặn 1 thảm họa đối với thành phố.
