Whilst playing golf, Charlie (who else?) finds the body of Graham Hawkesworth buries in a bunker. Investigations show that he was apparently having an affair with an unknown woman. This â€˜other woman' is the prime suspect in Hawkesworth's murder and it appears that she is none other than Susan.    It transpires that Graham invented the story that he was having an affair and chose Susan as the â€˜other woman' in order to make his wife jealous. His wife is the real killer and plans to make Susan the next victim.

Jim must delay his weekend off in order to take over escorting a French electronics expert from a special branch officer who has become ill.

Jim is put under pressure to arrest a scrap dealer who he believes is innocent of assaulting a young girl.

Philippa Vale gives sanctuary to a Canadian Olympic track star whose life has been threatened when he refuses to boycott an international hearing concerning drug abuse by athletes. Jim and Susan break off their relationship.

An eccentric Scotland yard detective arrives in Jersey for a holiday and to harass an island resident whom he considers a villain responsible for crippling his former partner.

Season 7

Jim faces his toughest test to date when Susan's dead body is washed up on shore. Jim is convinced that she was murdered, but is he right?

Who is the scruffy little man and why are so many people chasing him? And why is he claiming to be Detective Sergeant Bergerac?

A team of archaeology students are carrying out an excavation on a piece of land reputed to be cursed. Soon one student is attacked by an unseen force and one later turns up dead. Charlie owns the land and suddenly falls ill when the students start to excavate the land. Bergerac refuses to believe that a Viking's curse is at work and works with the expedition leader to find the truth. However in a rather confusing climax as she and Bergerac finally complete the excavation only to be attacked by the same unseen force. Bergerac later awakes where a rational explanation is given for what occurred by a recovered Charlie.

Nigel Carter is being terrorised but he refuses to help the police find the men concerned. Only when his daughter becomes their target does Bergerace begin to unravel the truth.

A French private detective is murdered in Charlie's study and Bergerac is sent to Provence to discover why.

When a fugitive from South Africa appeals to Karen Markham for help, she finds herself caught up in something she cannot control.

When a retired scientist gets a demand for a million pounds, Bergerac has a race against time to find the extortioner before his threat of destruction is carried out.

After a chance meeting at the races Bergerac becomes involved in the dubious world of the cabaret circuit.

Bergerac is caught up in a violent underworld as, single-handed; he tries to solve a case of kidnapping in London.

After quitting the force, Jim is called back to Jersey by the Bureau to protect a VIP.  However, the problem is that the VIP does not wish to have any protection.

Season 8

When Jim and Danielle are at a party in France, they witness a shooting, shortly before seeing somebody running off. Jim decides to put his detective skills to use and investigates, desperate to find the missing link.

Bergerac is summonsed back to Jersey, where Charlie persuades him to help a friend find his missing wife. But there is another player in the game that Jim hasn't counted on.

Bergerac is conned by Charlie into looking after a house in Provence and baby-sitting for two willful young girls while their parents are in Milan. He then finds himself caught up in a drug operation.

Bergerac Private Investigation-- discretion guaranteed. An ad in the local Jersey paper gets Jim a client he would rather not handle and a murder he does not expect. Meanwhile, Charlie gets involved in a charity appeal for a war hero.

When Hungerford is offered the deal of a lifetime by an American, he starts to get suspicious and asks Jim to look into it. Meanwhile, the American's daughter wants her father to be abducted so he can be sent back to the US to stand trial for her mother's murder.

Business is not too good for Bergerac, so when Charlie is invited to France to attend the 80th birthday party of an old friend, he accepts the job of chauffeur. When a necklace goes missing, and unwelcome family secrets are uncovered, the party turns out to be more eventful than he imagined.

Employed to look into companies seeking trade licences in Jersey, Bergerac finds more than he expects. Danielle is convinced that his life is in danger but nobody will believe her.

When Jim is asked by one of Charlie's friends to find his wife, he tracks her down at a strange sect in England who believe in the existence of Atlantis.

The mysterious Hapgood invites Bergerac to a lonely castle in Brittany. He wishes to hire Bergerac as a bodyguard and also to investigate threats on his life.

Full recap:   When someone fires a volley of shots at them whilst Hapgood is out painting, the result is the termination of Bergerac's services. Undaunted Jim continues his own investigation and via some gossip from Charlie, he forces Hapgood to admit the truth. He is a former assassin who has ""turned his back on the game.""  He is being targeted by his replacement, who wishes to remove him from the game permanently. Hapgood hopes to persuade the assassin to follow his lead and see the light.

Late at night the assassin attacks but Hapgood inadvertently kills him during a struggle. When the police arrive the next morning, Hapgood is haunted by Bergerac's earlier words, that he will never know who the next assassin will be.

Charlie recommends that Jim be hired to protect a priceless set of sixteen Chinese figures called Lohans.  Despite Jim's vigilance they are stolen and as he investigates their true ownership is brought into question.
