High school football player Spencer James gets a chance at a better life, playing for Beverly Hills High School.

Episode 1

While trying to be all things, on and off the field, Spencer quickly discovers the rules he played by at Crenshaw no longer apply in Beverly Hills. Meanwhile, Coop is also forced to learn a new set of rules, with Spencer’s protective “Halo Effect” now gone.

Spencer and Jordan spend an unexpected day together back in Crenshaw where our Beverly Hills golden boy, Jordan, gets his first taste of real life in South Central LA. Meanwhile, Billy struggles with his identity as a father as Olivia and Layla attempt to rekindle their friendship. And Coop faces her own truth, coming clean to her parents about being gay.

While riding the exhilarating wave of a three-game winning streak, Spencer becomes seduced by the Beverly Hills good life leading to an unexpected adventure with Asher. Meanwhile, Coop is also being seduced by a new way of life – gang life – and everything it offers her.

Spencer’s worlds come together to celebrate his birthday in Beverly Hills. But mixing the dysfunctional families – with the dash of an unexpected guest – ends in disaster. Beverly has their big Homecoming game and the pressure is on. Post-dance, Spencer is feeling the weight of the effects of his arrival at Beverly… as well as his departure from Crenshaw… and tries to set things right. Meanwhile, Billy tries to bring together his team for a win that will send them to the district play-offs for the first time since he became head coach… But Billy discovers doing what’s right and winning aren’t always the same thing.

Episode 8

Spencer should be on top of the world – his football team is headed to the playoffs and he can finally be with Layla – but he can’t shake a major tragedy that occurred causing him to question everything. Meanwhile, Coop learns some disturbing information about a friend and Jordan is worried about the results of a drug test that could end his football career for good.

Episode 9

As Coop gets more involved in gang life, her relationship with Patience is tested, while Spencer is determined to find a way to help his community stop the violence that keeps occurring. Jordan is developing a relationship with his grandfather, which brings up family issues for Billy.

Episode 10

At a college recruiting event, Spencer’s former teammates from Crenshaw show up, which causes Spencer to lose focus. Olivia comes to Asher’s aid, while Jordan struggles with the opportunities that comes with being Billy Baker’s son.

Spencer tries not to repeat the mistakes of his past with his relationship with Layla and Olivia struggles with her sobriety. Billy reveals to Laura something he did to protect his family, while Coop has conflicted emotions about reuniting with her father.

With playoffs and mid-terms looming, Spencer makes a few shocking discoveries about his father. Coop desperately wants to bring down her enemies, while Jordan makes a connection with his grandfather.

Season 1

After winning the state championship, Spencer James faces a difficult decision that could transform his reputation. Billy realizes he needs to make some major changes to get his life back on track, while Grace and Corey have a tough conversation regarding their family.

After Spencer and Olivia’s efforts to try to get help for Layla blow up in their faces, Layla pretends that everything is fine by throwing a birthday party for Olivia and Jordan. With Spencer not in a good place after the news he receives about Corey, he is forced to have dinner with the biggest football booster, and it doesn’t go well. Coop is ready to start recording the music she wants but Preach pushes her to try something that isn’t her style. Meanwhile, Jordan finds himself in trouble and turns to his dad for help, leaving Billy  to do what’s best for his family even though Laura doesn’t like it.

An exhibition 7-on-7 rematch of the Beverly Eagles vs. South Crenshaw creates tension for all the players, but especially when Darnell proposes a bet that Spencer can’t refuse. Jordan realizes that he needs help and turns to Billy and Laura for support. Olivia  and Asher are trying to figure out what the future for them means. Meanwhile, Coop turns to Layla for help with her song and to get in good with Layla’s dad, but Coop isn’t prepared for what she hears.

With Spencer, Grace, Dillon and Darnell reeling from the news about why Corey may have left, they set out on a mission to find him. After locating Corey and trying to convince him to go home with them, the weekend turns out to be just what everyone needed. In an effort to keep fighting for the family to be whole again, Billy arranges for the family to meet with a family therapist and possibly help decide on the next step for them. During the session, the therapist gives Jordan and Olivia a separate assignment, which helps them learn more about each other than either knew.

Spencer can't get excited about his football ranking and gets some guidance from Layla; Jordan gets some more news he wasn't expecting; Laura makes a decision about where she and Billy stand; Asher gets some clarity from his parents.

Dillon is mad that Spencer hasn’t been around, so Spencer tries to make it up to him by having him help sell tickets for Coop’s show, but they find themselves confronted by the police instead. Elsewhere, Coop is shook when faced with Tyrone, but luckily she knows Preach is in her corner. Billy tries to force Jordan and Olivia to hang out with him and make memories, but all doesn’t go to plan, giving Olivia an idea on reporting injustices. Meanwhile, Layla bonds with a new friend who understands what she is going through, but she realizes that Spencer and Olivia are there for her, too.

With Tyrone back on the streets, Spencer is being a little overly protective of Coop and Laura and finds himself in uncharted territory. Olivia  is nervous about her upcoming SoLA Muse Cotillion and tries to lean on Asher, but he seems more focused on football than ever. Coop and Patience are trying to get back into a rhythm, but things get worse when Coop’s jealous streak comes out. Meanwhile, Jordan alerts Billy about what he sees on social media that makes Billy worry a little.

With Spencer in bad shape, Grace, Billy, Laura, Olivia and Layla rush to his side. Knowing there is a big decision he needs to make, the community from both Crenshaw and Beverly Hills rally around him to show support. In the meantime, Spencer asks Coop to do him a favor, but somehow things go from bad to worse. Elsewhere, Jordan and his teammates step up to help Billy out while he is tending to other matters.

Billy and Grace are concerned that Spencer is going to push himself too hard before he is ready, which could make things worse for Spencer in the long run. Determined to secure their football future, Spencer, Darnell and Jordan  decide to go on a college football visit, but Darnell’s chance might be taken away by someone close to him. Asher’s teammates and Olivia have been noticing a difference in Asher’s performance and attitude on and off the field, leaving them to wonder why he is pushing himself so hard. Meanwhile, Layla thinks she knows what she wants to do with her future and needs Coop  to do it.

Spencer is ready to get back to football in order to impress recruiters, but he must prove to Billy and Grace he is not pushing himself before he is ready. Layla is excited about her and Coop’s music, but Coop is distracted about what is going on in the streets. Olivia struggles in believing Asher and turns to Billy for help. Jordan does the right thing and steps up in a big way to help a friend. Meanwhile, as the District Attorney’s race is almost over, Laura tries not to get sidetracked by her opponents smear campaign.

Spencer is worried Coop isn't taking everything seriously and asks Layla for her help. Olivia questions whether she did the right thing by going to Billy about Asher, leaving Billy to have to make a tough choice in order to protect his team. Coop is feeling smothered by everyone and makes a tough decision about her potential future. Meanwhile, Laura knows Jordan has a big heart but is concerned about his relationship with Simone.

Spencer goes against Billy’s wish and goes around him to get what he wants. Olivia and Asher are both guilt ridden for different reasons when it comes to Billy and the position he now finds himself in. Layla continues to help Coop  with her music which helps Coop receive an offer that she wasn’t expecting. Meanwhile, Jordan  does something to try and make things easier for Simone.

When Spencer hears that South Crenshaw may turn into a magnet school, he and his friends decide to do something about it, but he might have bigger problems to worry about. Billy makes a decision about his future that surprises everyone. Layla is focused on trying to get Coop a tour for the summer but isn’t having much luck, so she comes up with a different strategy that makes everyone happy. Asher has an opportunity to spend the summer with his mom but isn’t sure if he should go. Meanwhile, Olivia  struggles with what she will do over the summer and Jordan makes a Hail Mary in his personal life.

Season 2

Spencer finds himself on the defense after an interview he gave comes out, upsetting his old teammates; Coop and Layla return from tour; Billy is excited for a fresh start at South Crenshaw High.

Both Spencer and Billy are not getting the hero's welcome they expected from the football team and quickly realize they need to adjust their style and start earning the team's trust first.

With the first game of the season coming up, Spencer starts to feel the pressure on and off the field; Jordan realizes he needs to step up; Asher keeps trying to talk to Olivia about the summer, but she does everything she can to avoid the issue.

Following Layla's advice to see a therapist, Spencer tries to get to the root of his problem, which leads to a shocking revelation; Jordan grows concerned about Simone's behavior; Coop wants to make a music video and turns to the community for help.

Spencer and the team rally around Chris; Laura is concerned about Olivia's sobriety; Jordan gets sidelined during a game; Layla hits a dead end with her lawsuit.

Spencer decides to go to the family cabin to clear his head, but he gets a surprise visit from his friends; Billy shows up to the house to do a few repairs.

With Coop performing in Las Vegas, Spencer and some of the gang take a road trip to see her and Layla on tour. Spencer gets a little clarity on his feelings. Olivia notices that Jordan and Simone are acting suspicious.

Laura notices that Olivia has become more withdrawn and allows Olivia and Jordan to both take a mental health day and get some much-needed twin bonding time; things get heated with Layla and Olivia, leaving Olivia to get some much-needed clarity.

Spencer is upset with Olivia, which leaves him to face some difficult truths of his own. Billy holds school tryouts for a kicker and is surprised at who the number one candidate turns out to be.

Spencer knows he needs to have the game of his life to follow his dream of playing football. Jordan makes a risky choice when it comes to football. Olivia attends a new Narcotics Anonymous in search of a sponsor.

When a college scout comes to talk to Spencer, he must decide if the strings attached are worth it. Billy has an idea on how to help his players. A police shooting of a young black woman hits too close to home for Olivia.

When the truth comes out, Laura is furious and is left to face the consequences. Spencer asks something of his teammates that could jeopardize the rest of their season. Simone is worried about Jordan and turns to his friends for help.

When Spencer learns that Grace skipped her own college graduation, he enlists Olivia's help to throw her a surprise party. Billy is worried about his players' chances at college recruitment, so he tries to organize a scrimmage game to help.

Spencer puts extra pressure on himself and his young teammates during their game against Westlake. Billy and Jordan grow worried when Willie doesn't show up to the game as promised. Billy learns something about Willie he wasn't expecting.

When Billy forces Spencer and Frausto to get on the same page, the night takes an interesting turn. Olivia is excited to hang out with Layla, but the night doesn't go as planned.

As Spencer's high school football career comes to an end, he starts to imagine what his future might look like. Jordan grows concerned about his football future. Asher gets upset when he discovers that Montes has been keeping something from him.

Spencer, Olivia, Jordan and Simone decide to visit Simone's aunt at the HBCU in Atlanta where she is a journalism professor. Simone has a run in with a star baseball athlete named Damon.

With Jordan and Simone's big day quickly approaching, they start to envision what their new future will look like with the help of Billy and Laura; Jordan helps Olivia see what has been holding her back.

Things in Spencer's life seem to be going right, but everything changes when Billy learns what he has been keeping from him; Jordan and Asher get some unexpected news.

After the earth-shattering events of the Beverly and Crenshaw State Championship, Spencer also needs to come to terms what happened with Coop and Layla. Now he has the extra pressure of it being early national signing day for football and Spencer must make a major decision about committing. Meanwhile, Billy struggles to forgive Spencer about helping Jordan.

The gang celebrates a birthday, but not everyone is happy about it. As Olivia and Spencer's relationship grows stronger, Olivia struggles with the rift between Billy and Spencer. Jordan's buried feelings come to the surface leaving his and Billy's relationship strained. Meanwhile, Asher is trying to come to terms with his football career but is hopeful when he goes to see a new doctor.

With Spencer having to make yet another big decision, he choose to spend time with the most important people in his life. Olivia tries to balance her desire for intimacy with the commitment she made with herself regarding her sobriety. Jordan is worried about his recruitment possibilities and turns to Billy for advice. Asher contemplates his next move and finds inspiration from someone unexpected. Meanwhile, Grace is fed up with Billy's behavior and decides to confront him.

With the All-American game approaching Spencer is feeling uneasy until an old friend says something to him that makes everything suddenly click. Olivia applies for a coveted summer internship with the L.A. Tribune Online, but her test assignment takes a different turn than what they asked for. Jordan questions why no one sees him as great and the answer he gets takes him by surprise. Coop feels betrayed by Layla when she learns Layla is looking for a new artist and makes some hurtful accusations. Meanwhile, Billy discusses a new opportunity with Laura that might just be too good to turn down.

When Spencer receives some unsettling news about his future, Billy  helps devise a contingency plan for him. Layla ( makes Patience  an offer she wasn't expecting, forcing Patience to have a long overdue conversation with Coop. With the encouragement of Nurse Joy , Olivia contemplates taking on a new role in NA. Meanwhile, Asher's unwelcomed football advice helps JJ  in an unexpected way.

Everyone is excited for Senior skip day, and Spencer plans a romantic getaway at the cabin for he and Olivia, but when the gang shows nothing goes as he had planned. Surprising news makes Jordan and Simone realize they might not be as prepared for their new reality as they had hoped. Now that Patience is back from tour, she and Coop can't seem to get on the same page when it comes to their relationship. Meanwhile, Billy, Grace, Laura and Principal Carter team up with an unlikely ally as they go on an adventure in the halls of South Crenshaw High to track down relics of the past.

The gang is ready to celebrate prom together, but Spencer finds himself fixing a mistake made by his teammates that could have some major consequences. Olivia struggles with how to connect with her sponsee, and making her take her sobriety seriously. Coop bails on prom prep with Patience to help Amina once again. Meanwhile, Asher finds himself spending his prom night a little different than expected, and Layla gets some sage advice from Jordan.

With Spencer's determination to protect his teammates from unjust punishment, he puts his own future at risk. Olivia and Layla question their post-graduation plans only to find the answers where they least expect it. Asher is too proud to ask for help to pay for his dream college and takes his frustration out on the people trying to help him. Coop makes a heartbreaking decision when it comes to Amina. Meanwhile, Billy and Laura deal with the aftermath of what happened to GW.

With Spencer, Jordan, Asher and JJ living it up at JJ's rented summer beach house, Spencer is trying to have fun, but he is conflicted when it comes to sponsorship opportunities he is presented. Coop and Patience take a big step in their relationship, but things don't go as smoothly as they had anticipated, and Olivia offers to help. Layla's dad give her a touching graduation gift that brings up a lot of emotions she wasn't expecting. Meanwhile, Laura is at her wits end and steps in to help Billy.

With summer ending and their college football careers beginning, Spencer tries to adjust to more than his brutal workout schedule. Olivia is excited for her new job, but it isn't what she anticipated. Patience asks Layla for help with Coop in getting her motivated, but their plan doesn't go as expected. Asher runs into someone from his past and learns what has really been going on. Meanwhile, Grace joins the search committee for a new a principal and has someone in mind for the job.

After finally getting a handle on his football schedule, Spencer must figure out how to balance everything mentally before it costs him. Billy is settling into his new role and finds inspiration from an unlikely source to fight for the job permanently. Olivia and Jordan go on a mission to find Olivia's sponsor when she goes missing. JJ introduces Asher to his coach with the hopes that he can get a student job with the team, but it turns out to be harder than expected. Meanwhile, Layla feels the pressure to step up her game in the music business.

With the pressure of school, Spencer and Olivia find themselves looking forward to a fun day together, but quickly find themselves in the middle of everyone's lives at home. Laura learns of some new information about the ongoing investigation that has Coop, Patience and Preach worried. Billy and Grace are at odds as to who is best for the job, and neither is ready to back down. Meanwhile, Layla assumes the worst when her dad tells her he is stepping away from his hectic life at the label.

After weeks of hard work at practice and the first game quickly approaching, Spencer has high hopes of playing in his first college game. Trying to find his place on the team, Jordan forms a bond with some of the seniors. Asher and Layla have epiphanies about their respective relationships and realize they need to deal with it. Coop and Patience finally speak their truths leaving them in unknown territory. Meanwhile, Olivia learns an important lesson as she slowly tries to work her way up the ladder at the paper.

Spencer continues to try and prove himself during practices, which seems to go unnoticed, but when a fellow GAU athlete offers to help him form a different plan to get back on the field, he considers it. Coop begins a new job at a nursing home and gets some sage advice from an elderly woman. With the encouragement of Asher, JJ gets a tutor which helps him confront a vulnerable time in his past through his term paper. Olivia is frustrated with her living situation, but also finds some inspiration for her next article. Meanwhile, Laura forms a criminal defense law venture in the community but struggles to find her footing.

After Spencer sees some teammates landing lucrative NIL deals, his ambitions for them continues to grow. Jordan's new friendship with some teammates becomes more complicated than he imagined. Olivia gets a new perspective for her NIL piece after not giving up and following her gut. Asher and the crew get a new perspective about their group dynamic from an outsider. Meanwhile, Coop jumps to conclusions while protecting someone at her new job.

With some heat on Spencer, he must figure out what his NIL brand, but he discovers he isn't the only one having a problem with discovering who they are. Olivia's story makes things complicated for Jordan and potentially for her as well. Patience has a release party for her new album and things get awkward for her and Coop. Billy struggles to balance everything going on with his life. Meanwhile, Layla and Jordan are forced to face their past demons when they get locked in Layla's recording studio, which tests their friendship.

Spencer and Olivia are forced to acknowledge how much they have changed after some quality time together doesn't go smoothly putting a strain on their relationship. On a road trip to San Diego, Jordan helps Layla to gain the courage to get the closure she needs. Asher turns to Billy for advice after he gets a big opportunity that might cost him more than he bargained for when it comes to his friendships. Meanwhile, Coop and Patience come to an agreement on how to navigate their new situation.

Spencer is ready to take the next step in his NIL journey, but everything could be at risk before it has a chance to get started. Olivia gets caught up in her story and quickly learns it could cost her everything. Jordan gets a surprise that throws a wrench into his plans with Layla. Billy is worried about his job and gets some sage advice that leads him to come up with a new plan. Meanwhile, Coop and Laura realize they could help each other in an unexpected way.

With Spencer and Asher's tension at an all-time high, JJ plans a party for the gang. Olivia goes against her instinct about an article causing friction between her and Spencer. Jordan is trying to hide his feeling by making some uncharacteristic choices that doesn't go unnoticed by his friends. Coop is thriving in her new job, leaving Patience to see a new side of Coop. Meanwhile, Grace joins Billy on his all-nighter of protecting the school from the Halloween vandal and shares some news of her own with him.

After an intense ending to the Halloween party, Spencer tries his best to compartmentalize everything and focus on the big Homecoming game. Much to Laura's dismay, Billy and Olivia set out on a mission to do what they think is right, which leads them to learn more than they anticipated. Jordan makes it known in what he wants but is met with resistance, and Layla gets an unexpected bombshell at work. Coop is at an emotional crossroads and Asher learns the power of adjustments. Season 4

With everyone on holiday break, Spencer, decides to throw an epic Christmas party, with the help of JJ and Asher, as an excuse to bring him and Olivia closer. Jordan gets news about his hand, but he isn’t sure what to do. After weeks of research, Olivia and Billy  think they may have a breakthrough on their investigation. Layla decides to take matters into her own hands to get her dad’s company back.  Meanwhile, Coop feels replaced when Laura makes a change in the office, which makes Coop think about her future.

With Spencer’s life hitting a rocky point, he takes some advice from JJ  and Coop  to embrace college life. Olivia  and Billy’s  suspicions about Coach Garrett resurface and cause tension between them and Jordan. Layla  makes a power play that catches an unsuspecting Patience off-guard. Meanwhile, Asher struggles with trying to be JJ’s coach and maintaining their friendship.

When Spencer joins Olivia in her quest to get former players to talk about Coach Garrett, things start to become real for them. With Jordan’s encouragement, Layla agrees to attend a red carpet with Patience, but Patience is still learning the ins and outs of these exclusive events. Spencer notices that Grace is doing a lot of wedding things solo, so he comes up with a solution to make her feel special. Asher gets an opportunity to take the next step in his career by going on a recruiting trip. Meanwhile, Coop gets too involved in a case at work, leading Laura to step in.

With Grace and Carter’s wedding right around the corner, antics ensue. While Denise and Laura kidnap Grace for a surprise bachelorette party, Preach and Billy take Carter out for drinks, and everyone ends the night with more than they bargained for. JJ puts together another Vortex game night with Spencer, Jordan, Layla , and Olivia that goes awry when secrets are aired. Meanwhile, Coop is coming to terms with some disappointing news.

Still not satisfied with her article, Olivia gets Billy’s help to find the missing piece before her deadline. JJ ropes Spencer and Jordan into a Valentine’s Day fraternity speed dating event, which leaves Jordan questioning what’s really happening between him and Layla. Coop has an opportunity to audit a law class but faces stiff competition for the coveted spot. Meanwhile, JJ begins to wonder if Asher is using recruiting as a ploy to get JJ to take off-season seriously.

After what happens at the press conference, Spencer and Jordan try to secure as many commitments before the end of National Signing Day to help their team. Asher tries to capitalize on the unfortunate opportunity by swaying some new recruits with an assist from an unlikely source. Olivia is torn on how to publish her article while also protecting those she loves. Patience is pushed outside her comfort zone while shooting a music video. Meanwhile, Jordan and JJ throw a party that escalates and ends with Jordan witnessing a rude awakening.

Hustling to manage the fallout after some shocking news, Spencer reaches out to Billy for help while Jordan contemplates where his priorities are. Hoping to revive the GAU football program, Spencer and Jordan take a page from the Billy Baker playbook and revisit some former football stars as potential walk-ons…without Coach Kenny’s blessing. Olivia, Layla and Patience look for an escape from their current life stressors and ultimately rediscover themselves in the process. JJ tries to straddle football and the fraternity, and Coop gets great news but it may cost her something precious.

It’s Spring Break for GAU, but the well-deserved break brings some big changes when an old friend surprises Spencer and Jordan, Olivia searches for the courage to share her truth, Patience has a decision to make as her career skyrockets, and Layla has an eye-opening conversation.

The GAU football team is undergoing some growing pains and Spencer is challenged to try and bring them all together.  Asher and Jaymee are ready to share their news but not everyone is supportive.
